In part a guest house of the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center, The Inn at University Village is in larger part a luxurious yet friendly retreat for busy professionals and travelers. All guestrooms, lobbies, and banquet facilities were completely redecorated in 1995.
The spacious marble lobby accounts for twenty-five percent of the first-floor public area. It is accented with richly tapestried English/Georgian furniture and panelled with imported woods. An original art collection and antique bric-a-brac complete the room.
Guestrooms all have a king or two double beds, a combination desk/dresser and a spacious reading/study area. Decorated in muted greens, the rooms feature sturdy, custom-made dark walnut furniture with mahogany trim. Extra large bathrooms are finished in ceramic tile and feature marble vanities and full-length wall mirrors.
The Georgian/English decor of the Restaurant, with its mahogany and tapestry chairs, central marble fireplace, original artwork and antique china, makes this the perfect place to enjoy the restaurant's legendary Sunday Brunch, so good it is popular with locals as well as guests. Fireside dining adds a comfortable warmth to the already friendly surroundings. T Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is varied, with everything from burgers and pizza to Hickory Grilled Filet Mignon--all prepared with today's healthy eating attitudes in mind. Lemon Parmesan Chicken is a tried and true favorite, and don't miss the Paul Bunyan cookies.
Five meeting rooms offer a combined total of 3,100 square feet. Complete conference and banquet facilities can easily accommodate 250 people for a wide range of corporate functions, beautifully catered weddings and other social events. |
