Built in 1928, the Chestnut Inn at Oquaga Lake is a classic example of American-style architecture and craftsmanship. The Inn is almost totally constructed of the now-extinct North American chestnut. The lobby, dominated by a natural stone fireplace, is furnished in antiques, with fabrics in warming hues of pink and green.
Guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and many amenities of a lakeside resort, with excellent service and elegant furnishings. Guestrooms feature private baths, decorative floral touches, and soothing lakeside or woodland views. A short stroll on flower-lined walkways brings guests to the banks of Oquaga Lake and the boat dock.
A cruise aboard Pickles, a replica of the Inn's original launch that once graced the waters, provides an entertaining experience. Canoes and paddleboats are available upon request, and the Activities Director is on hand to arrange an activity for everyone. Guests can fish, water ski, or hike the beautiful shores of the lake. Golf and tennis are just minutes from the Inn.
The ultimate in dining is offered by Chef Chris McGee both in the relaxed elegance of the main Chestnut Inn Dining Room with its lamp-lit tables, and in the Lakeside Sun Room with views of the lake from its windows on all sides. Weather permitting, more casual dining is available on the Waterfront Terrace. The Waterside Tavern provides daily beverage service.
The Chestnut Inn prides itself in providing a fully equipped conference facility that accommodates up to 100 people, complete with catering capabilities. The relaxed atmosphere and multitude of activities at hand create the perfect meeting place. |
