This elegant 19th-century residence on historic Main Street has been completely restored. This inn is part of several historic buildings which comprise the Equinox Resort and are located in Manchester Village. The inn was once home to Charles Orvis, the fly-fishing entrepreneur and founder of the Orvis Company, and has been operating as an inn since 1883. Victorian in design with Tudor-style windows, the Inn has nine luxurious one- and two-bedroom suites. Nestled in the village, it is surrounded by the Green Mountains and Battenkill River. The Inn offers special package rates including golf, skiing, spa, honeymoon, and anniversary stays.
Offering the highest level of service, this exclusive country retreat is ideal for both business and leisure travelers. The lobby sets an elegant tone with coffered ceilings, oak floorings, and richly textured fabrics. The Tying and Billiard Rooms are beautifully appointed in timeless club ambiance. The stately Board Room, with recessed audio/visual equipment, accommodates fifteen people. An experienced staff oversees the banquet facilities.
Complimentary breakfast is presented to guests daily, and afternoon tea is also served. Dining is available at the distinguished Marsh Tavern at The Equinox, the Charles Orvis Inn's sister hotel next door.
The Equinox Resort also shares with the Charles Orvis Inn its newly redesigned 18-hole Rees Jones golf course facilities, a fitness spa featuring an indoor pool, steam room, sauna, cardio-vascular equipment, Nautilus, pro shop, mountain bikes, year round tennis, snowmobiling, ice skating, and snowshoeing.
As far as alternate activities, The Off-Road Driving School, and The British School of Falconry are the amenities unique to the property. |
