The Empire Suite
The Veneto
Rose Suite

Originally settled by Scandinavians and Portuguese, the entire village of Ferndale is a State Historical Landmark, known for its well-preserved Victorian homes and Main Street boutiques, art galleries, cafes and museums. The Gingerbread Mansion Inn, a unique combination of Queen Anne and Eastlake styles elaborately trimmed with ornate gingerbread and painted in striking yellow and peach tones, is one of Northern California's most photographed homes. Built in 1899, the building was restored as a bed and breakfast Inn in 1983.

Many of the rooms have plush floral carpets, rich Victorian wallpapers and comforters. Three of the four suites have new fireplaces. The award-winning Empire Suite features a dramatic twelve-foot foyer with checkerboarded dark and light marble, a king bed, twelve-foot ionic columns, and two fireplaces.

Included is Afternoon Tea with cake, pastries and assorted home-baked items served in one of four Victorian parlors, an early morning tray of coffee or tea served to your room, and many little extras, such as bubble bath, bathrobes and bedside chocolates. All guests enjoy a full gourmet breakfast of homemade delights prepared by one of the Inn's two professional chefs in the Renaissance Revival dining room adorned with dramatic Art Nouveau glass and damask wallpapers in gold and cream, and served on the Inn's collection of green Cameo Depression glass.

From the formal English gardens to the full afternoon tea with twelve selections, the Gingerbread is an experience not to be missed by lovers of the Victorian era in its full glory.
