The Santa Barbara Inn, with its sprawling tri-level facade painted white with teal awnings faces the ocean and is flanked by palms and flowers in a tropical garden setting.
Lobby decor is lovely Picasso colors with marble floor. Guestrooms are over-sized; furniture is light gold tones and soft goods are earth toned with rich sandy shades.
The Santa Cruz Island suite is truly spectacular. It has an over-sized round bedroom, richly appointed parlor and wrap-around deck with a breathtaking view of mountains and ocean. A cream textured wall covering adorns the bath in which there is also a telephone.
The restaurant, CITRONELLE, is fronted with glass, overlooking the Pacific, and has been praised for its fine California-French cuisine. It offers appetizers such as procupine shrimp with frisee salad and ginger dressing, entrees such as Sauteed Sea Scallops in fresh tomato consomme with mini cheese raviolis and scallions, and for dessert (always the high point of the dinner), a Chocolate Truffle Surprise . There is also an extensive wine list featuring California and French wines from which to choose.
There is an outdoor swimming pool. Sports such as golf, boating, bicycling, horseback riding and sailing are all available nearby.
