The dramatic and innovative architecture of The Boulders blends with the prehistoric boulder formations and harmonizes with the natural beauty of the surrounding Sonoran desert foothills. Scattered throughout the 1,300 acre resort are 160 individual casitas and 39 villas.

Rooms have viga ceilings, horno-style corner fireplaces, private patios, and such special touches as quality toiletries and fluffy bathrobes. Navajo rugs and southwestern Indian pottery accent the subtle desert-hued decor.

The concierge will gladly arrange a hot-air balloon ride, desert Jeep trip, or spectacular flying tour of the Grand Canyon. Outdoor sports abound: 36 holes of golf on courses designed by Jay Morrish, 8 plexi-cushion all-weather tennis courts, 3 swimming pools, bicycling, marked hiking trails and nature paths. There is also a Rock-Climbing Clinic. And for those not so inclined - the Sonoran Spa.

Five dining rooms offer a full range of outstanding cuisine. First is The Latilla which features Grand American Cuisine as well as a diverse and tantalizing main menu and irresistible continental pastries. It also affords a stunning view of waterfalls and the impressive rock formations for which the resort is named. Next is the light and airy Palo Verde which features southwestern cuisine characterized by local ingredients and dramatic presentations while the Cantina del Pedregal features inspired Mexican cuisine. The Boulders Club serves both lunch and dinner. The Bakery Cafe is also available for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

For large groups there are 7,000 square feet of meeting rooms including a 5,600-square-foot ballroom. Together, the meeting spaces can accommodate up to 450 persons.
