Jermyn Street's history dates back to 1664 when Henry Jermyn, Earl of St. Alban's, leased 45 acres of Pall Mall Field from the Crown.
At the end of the 19th century, the property was rebuilt in its present Edwardian style, and 22 Jermyn Street's tradition of hospitality has been continued since then by three generations of the Togna family. When Henry Togna, the present owner, re-created 22 Jermyn Street as a luxury townhouse hotel, he determined to provide the facilities of a larger hotel but with a level of personal service and intimacy really only achievable in a small hotel. This was reflected in the hotels being the "1999 City Hotel of the Year - Grand Award Winner" - Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report.
There are thirteen large suites and five studios, each with well equipped bathrooms. The rooms are stylishly decorated, air conditioned and are elegant, comfortable, and suitable for both business and holiday travelers. Some rooms can be combined into two or three bedroom suites. All suites have sofa beds in their sitting rooms.
Upon arrival, guests receive newsletters with up-to-date information on restaurants, entertainment, shopping and the Arts. A health club 75 meters away has extensive facilities, a swimming pool and squash courts. The Royal Parks are close by, and ideal for runners and walkers.
